Protect the Cycle to Work Scheme: Reject the Proposed Cap
The Cycle to Work scheme should be maintained in its current form and expanded to include self-employed workers, with improved access for lower earners so more people can benefit from affordable, healthy, sustainable travel.
The Cycle to Work scheme costs £130m but delivers £573m in benefits, boosts productivity, supports cycling businesses, and cuts congestion and emissions. Unlike uncapped EV salary sacrifice, a cap would restrict affordable, healthy, low-carbon travel. It gets 200,000 people cycling each year. Protect and expand it to improve public health, air quality, local economies and our shift to sustainable transport.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Despite media speculation, the Government has not announced any proposals to cap the cycle to work scheme. We're therefore not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
You could submit a petition setting out specific changes to the scheme that you would like the Government to make.
