Make false claims about serving in the armed forces a specific criminal offence
We think there is growing trend in the UK for individuals to claim they have served in the Armed Forces. These individuals undermine genuine current serving personnel and veterans.
The UK Government should make it illegal for a person to make false claims about serving in the Armed Forces. The crime should be punishable with a custodial sentence to prevent these individuals from making such false and misleading statements.
