Stop Local Government Reorganisation in Gloucestershire
We, the Forest of Dean Independent Group, do not believe that Local Government Reorganisation, in terms of creating unitary authorities, is required or wanted by the people of not only the Forest of Dean but also Gloucestershire. The loss of local accountability and knowledge is unacceptable
As such, we demand the retention of our District, Borough and City Councils in Gloucestershire and that rather than a UNITARY Authority or Authorities, the people of Gloucestershire request The Creation of a Combined Authority made up of and with each having equal status
The Forest of Dean District Council,
Tewkesbury Borough Council
Stroud District Council
Cotswold District Council
Cheltenham Borough Council
Gloucester City Council.
This is true devolution while retaining localness
