Concern About Limited and High-Cost Non-Dairy Options in Supermarkets
• Whether pricing disparities between dairy and non-dairy products can be investigated
• How supermarkets can be encouraged to offer more inclusive seasonal options
• What measures could help ensure essential non-dairy items are fairly priced and accessible
Major supermarkets such as Morrisons, Tesco and Asda offer very few non-dairy alternatives, particularly for seasonal items like children’s advent calendars. While dairy versions come in a wide range of themes (e.g., Paw Patrol, Bluey), non-dairy options are usually limited to one or two generic products and are significantly more expensive.
