Fund mental health training for registered nurses

Petition Details

We call on the Government to provide funding to train registered nurses to be qualified to work with mental health patients within the hospitals.

Additional Information

I am a registered nurse on an acute medical unit, and the amount of mental health patients we have on a medical ward has risen to the dozen. When we request the mental health crisis team we are always met with “we are too busy”. I think this is unacceptable. I therefore call on the Government to provide funding to allow registered adult nurses to have mental health training and become mental health professionals in their own right alongside what we are already doing to our full potential will provide more stability to patients that need us! Please.
