Increase the Luxury Car Tax threshold to £50-55,000

Petition Details

We believe the Government should raise increase the value threshold of Luxury car tax to above the average new vehicle value. We believe the AVERAGE should NOT be a luxury.

Additional Information

It has been reported that the current average value for a new vehicle in the UK is around £40,000, which is the current threshold for luxury car tax. We believe it’s wrong that the reported average in the UK has become a luxury and should be increased. We feel hardworking people deserve to not be overly taxed on the average and that the threshold should be raised to £50k-£55k, as this could be more reflective of what was defined as luxury.
