Petition Details

Stricter rules for middle lane hoggers (driver awareness courses, fines and points for repeat offenders). Zero punishment or penalties for undertaking on the motorway if there’s a middle lane hogger.

Additional Information

We believe that the amount of people that use motorways but have no idea how to actually drive on them is staggering. Why should somebody who's aware they have to drive in the far left lane have to swing all the way into the far right overtake lane just to swing all the wav back across to the far left. It’s dangerous for that person who’s got to swing across 4 lanes of traffic especially if maybe it’s a new or older driver who may not have the confidence. All while the hogger is often blissfully unaware.
