Protect the 5-year ILR pathway for refugees and migrants already in the UK
We call upon the Government to legally guarantee that any new asylum and immigration rules will not be applied retroactively.
Individuals and families who have already been granted leave to remain in the UK - including refugees, those on family visas, and other work visas.
We urge the Government to honour its original commitment. Maintain the existing 5-year ILR rules for everyone already on this pathway, and apply any new system only to future applicants.
Fairness and justice must be the foundation of the UK's immigration system.
