Petition Action

Keep the 5 Years Path to ILR (Indefinite Leave To Remain— No Retroactive Changes

Petition Details

We urge the Government to maintain the 5-years pathway to ILR for refugees and skill workers and apply any new rules only from the date of approval.

Additional Information

Proposed 30-month visas threaten security, employment, and family stability. Refugees often face torture, war, and psychological and physical challenges. Judging their lives by financial criteria harms them and violates human rights. Backdating policies is especially unfair, like being punished years later for driving legally on a road that is suddenly deemed “illegal.”
