Petition Action

Protect existing Skilled Workers; allow 5-year ILR; new rules after White Paper.

Petition Details

“Allow current Skilled Worker visa holders to complete the 5-year ILR. Apply new ILR rules only to new applicants after the White Paper, or provide transitional time similar to Care Worker and Graduate Route changes to prevent disruption to families, children’s education, and financial plans.”

Additional Information

“Many Skilled Workers, including families with children, moved to the UK trusting the 5-year ILR route and paid high visa/NHS fees. Retrospective changes cause stress, disrupt children’s education, family life, and long-term plans. Implementing rules backdated without notice is unfair, undermines human rights, and affects people’s emotions. Transitional protection ensures fairness, stability, and trust in the UK immigration system.” ✅
