Petition Action

Protect Individuals from AI Deepfakes

Petition Details

Introduce legislation that changes copyright laws to impose a ban on sharing deepfakes to protect citizens privacy, dignity and personal characteristics.

Additional Information

Deepfakes can cause severe harm to individuals when fake images are created that involve them. Current legislation does not keep up with the rapid developments of AI capabilities, and individuals are not protected against this new vulnerability. Legislation must protect individuals' character and from defamation and exploitation by predators, particularly in regard to children and other vulnerable people.
