Petition Action

Ban the Police from Using Tasers on Children

Additional Information

It is a huge scandal and a national disgrace that these potentially lethal weapons are considered a viable option for law enforcement in a civilised nation like the UK.

A Taser is a potentially lethal weapon and whilst its lethality is lower than a conventional firearms it is far from safe to use on young people and yet according to latest figures Police has drawn Tasers on over 400 children annually including those under 12 with the youngest fired upon aged just 14.

We the undersigned demand that the government instruct all police authorities within the UK to instruct their officers to desist on using Tasers against anyone aged 18 and under with immediate effect.
