Petition Action

Increase the UK Tax-Free Personal Allowance to £20,000

Petition Details

We, the undersigned, respectfully call upon the UK Gov. to increase the personal tax-free allowance from the current £12,570 to £20,000. This change is urgently needed to reflect the real cost of living in the United Kingdom, support working households, and stimulate economic stability and growth.

Additional Information

Allowance Too Low
Rising costs mean people pay tax without real income gains. £20,000 is more realistic.

Helping Workers
A higher allowance boosts take-home pay and eases household pressure.

Economic Boost
More retained earnings encourage work and support businesses.

Stopping Stealth Taxes
Fiscal drag pushes people into higher bands unfairly; raising the allowance fixes this.

Supporting Recovery
More disposable income fuels spending and economic recovery.
