Ban the brutal practice of Halal slaughter in the UK
Parliament should ban all Halal slaughter in the UK. Animal welfare must override religious custom—ritual killing is outdated and inhumane. The law must reflect reason, compassion, and the highest standards of modern ethics.
I want Parliament to act because all animals deserve protection from unnecessary suffering. Halal slaughter, even with pre-stunning, is rooted in outdated ritual rather than compassion or science. The UK should uphold one humane standard for all, free from religious exemptions. This would show moral leadership, prioritise animal welfare, and affirm that our laws are based on reason and universal ethics, not tradition or superstition.
