Remove restrictions on Right to Buy in rural areas
I want the Government to remove all restrictions that stop tenants in rural areas from using Right to Buy. This includes amending section 157 of the Housing Act 1985 to remove the ability to restrict Right to Buy in rural areas.
We think rural families are facing a severe housing crisis, and that the affordable housing need in rural areas is very high.
Families in rural areas are facing a severe housing crisis, as several national organisations show that affordable housing need in rural England is now higher than in urban areas. Reports also suggest that waiting lists in rural areas are growing far faster than in towns and cities. This shortage means people have very few alternatives when securing affordable accommodation.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
