Petition to Preserve the Right to Trial by Jury in England
Maintain the right to trial by jury in English courts and reject any proposals that restrict or remove its availability, ensuring this essential safeguard of fair and transparent justice remains in place.
Trial by jury is a long-standing safeguard that ensures fairness, public trust and democratic participation in the justice system. Limiting it concentrates power in the state and risks undermining confidence in legal decisions. Protecting jury trials preserves transparency and strengthens the rule of law.
