Petition Action

United Kingdom must ensure no government can cancel or postpone elections.

Petition Details

To uphold the integrity of the United Kingdom’s democratic system, it is vital to remove any possibility of a government cancelling or unduly delaying elections.

Additional Information

In a democracy, the people—not the government—decide when change comes. The UK must guarantee that no government can ever cancel or postpone elections to serve its own interests. Strong fixed-term rules and independent safeguards are essential to protect our right to vote and keep power in the hands of the public.
