Let Hampshire Residents Vote in the Scheduled 2026 Local Elections
We ask the Government to guarantee that Hampshire’s 2026 local elections go ahead in May as planned. Confirm no further delay, publish the timetable, and support councils to deliver the vote. Local reorganisation must not prevent residents from choosing their representatives.
Delaying elections denies democratic choice and weakens accountability. Hampshire residents need councillors with a fresh mandate, not extended terms. Regular elections protect trust, fairness and representation. Let the people vote in 2026 — democracy must come first.
