Petition Action

Request for a referendum on whether the country is happy with leaving the EU.

Petition Details

The UK joined the EEC on January 1st 1973. There was public vote that took place on 5th June 1975, on whether the UK should remain a member of the EEC. The UK officially left the European Union on 31st January 2020. The UK must have a vote on if the people are still in agreement with leaving the EU.

Additional Information

It has become quite clear the Brexit has not worked. The country is suffering severe financial circumstances. Studies have shown that the UK is losing £90 billion annually due to the damage caused by leaving the EU. The government must address this situation. It cannot be done with new trade deals. But it can be rectified by enjoying the financial freedoms that EU members have in regards to trade, namely the single market and customs union. The UK needs to trade under the conditions.
