Police Dogs
To honour our Police dogs as we would a human police officer in both active duty and retirement deaths.
Our Police dogs have saved countless lives from both the Pilice service and Civilians.
They have been used to combat aggressive armed individuals as a non-lethal option.
This has meant an officer has not had to use lethal force and a civilian intent on a lethal outcome had a positive outcome.
A police dog has on countless occasions entered areas of danger without concern for itself to minimise the risk to officers or the public to identify threats from persons or expolisives.
It is therefore reasonable to honour our dogs as we would a human police officer in both on and off duty deaths, including retirement.
At a minimum our police dogs should be given a force funeral to honour their service to others.
