Change the law that allows smaller supermarkets to charge more than larger ones
Change the law that allows smaller supermarkets to charge more than larger ones for the same items. This should not be allowed. Especially as there is less variety and stock available. The uplift in price is not justified. Stopping this will give all families access to cheaper and healthier food.

The uplift in price is not justified. Stopping this will give all families access to cheaper and healthier food. Everyone should have access to the same options. In the cost of living crisis this would go along way to supporting those in need. It would also save on fuel as people won’t need to travel to big stores

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We are unclear of the details of what you are asking for: whether you want a single price for a product across all shops, or whether you want to require companies to charge the same price for a product in all the shops they own regardless of their size (which could be different to other companies).
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
