The police should have the power to use water cannon in serious public disorder situations
The police should have the power to use water cannon in serious public disorder situations, such as the August 2011 riots in London. The water cannon is used in Northern Ireland, and police should be trained and should have this option at their disposal to combat serious riot situations in mainland Britain.
