Commitment to a constitutional reform package

Additional Information

The current trend towards another hung parliament, the disengagement of the public from politics and the potential for constitutional deadlock or crisis is cause for concern.

Action should be taken to restore the ideals of representative democracy.

All parties should commit to a constitutional reform package which would include boundary reform (no party is yet prepared to admit that the current system is stacked in favour of certain results) , right of recall (with hearings into mps/ministers in front of jurors), an appointed house of lords restoring merit and expertise over party patronage and most crucially the revoking of devolved assemblies/first ministers and elected mayors/police commissioners which have led to political careers being created to a point where the UK is now more expensive to govern, more divided and more complicated than necessary.
