Include BSL as a GCSE language option
To discuss it and work with exam boards AQA and Pearson who have decided against a GCSE BSL. A person in England is more likely to meet a Deaf person than a person from a second language, French, Spanish etc. .
British Sign Language is an official language, recognised by the UK Government in 2003. It should be offered to those in Secondary schools as an option.
Raise Deaf Awareness and carry on the work in the BSL Act 2022. Please don't make the mistake made at the Milan Conference in 1880 where Sign Language in schools was outlawed and banned.
The government needs to include Deaf people in campaigning and manifestos, make them available in BSL
