Convene an inquiry into the targeted violence against Hindus in Bangladesh
Since August 2024, Hindus in Bangladesh have faced surge in violence, temple desecrations, and mob lynchings. Despite promises, the interim government has failed to protect this minority. We ask the UK to hold a formal inquiry into these atrocities and crimes against religious minorities.
Evidence includes the lynching of Dipu Chandra Das and thousands of attacks reported by ASK, Insight UK. MPs have raised concerns in Hansard about persecution of Hindus. Temples have been targets of arson, leaders face questionable charges. USCIRF notes extreme insecurity for minorities.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Decisions about holding an inquiry into violence against Hindus in Bangladesh are a matter for the Bangladeshi Government, not the UK Government or Parliament.
