Require a referendum and 2 years' notice for any major constitutional changes
No government should be able to make major changes to constitutional structures without a referendum from the British people, including changes to elections or alterations to the powers or composition of Parliament. Proposed changes should have at least 2 years' notice to enable research & debate.
Constitutional changes affect democracy and the way the British people interact with it. We believe changes should not be allowed to be made without permission from the British people and with an informed debate.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
