Do not implement a ban on the use of aversive dog training tools

Petition Details

For the government to not introduce a ban on the sale or use of aversive dog training tools including electronic collars.

Additional Information

The government says it will consult on whether to ban electronic collars for dogs, deeming them to potentially be cruel. However, we think the implementation of such a ban could have significant negative repercussions for dogs, their owners, trainers, and rehabilitators throughout England. If such a ban is enforced, we think it is likely to result in an increase in dog-related incidents, such as fights and bites, as well as a higher number of dogs being surrendered or ultimately euthanised.
