Legislate to require all invoices to be paid within 21 days of receipt

Pass a law which requires all UK and foreign businesses, local authorities and government institutions to pay all invoices within 21 days of receipt in the UK.

Additional Information

We believe far too many small to medium businesses are struggling unnecessarily due to late payments from large companies. Cash flow is a key element in the success of any business. When a business fails, it is not just their suppliers that may suffer, the company may often be unable to pay their debts to the treasury. We believe this can be avoided by introducing a law that could enable fair competition between small and large businesses.
