Petition Action

Ban electronic shelf labels in shops

Petition Details

Ban the use of electronic shelf labels and the possibility of dynamic pricing via these electronic shelf labels in shops.

Additional Information

We are concerned behaviour surveillance technologies and AI may be used to charge people more based on their circumstances and habits. This could exacerbate inequalities as more economically desperate people could be charged more for essentials. We believe this is an affront to a free and open society and democracy. We believe any claims of saving carbon are a non-starter as this has such a minuscule impact to be useful.
