Ban public use of fireworks on New Year’s Eve & promote quieter alternatives

Petition Details

We ask the Government to ban the use of fireworks by members of the public on New Year’s Eve, and to promote safer, quieter alternatives for celebrations, such as professionally organised drone light displays accompanied by music.

Additional Information

Fireworks on New Year’s Eve cause severe distress to animals, especially dogs, and pose public safety risks. Loud explosions may trigger fear, panic, and injury; pets may escape or suffer medical emergencies. Cats, small pets, wildlife, and farm animals may also be affected. In London, animals may not be able to escape the noise.
