Make it a legal requirement from birth to have all babies heel pricked for SMA
Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a genetic neuromuscular disorder causing severe muscle weakness in infants, with symptoms appearing in the first six months of life. Without treatment, it is life-limiting.
