Review Equality Act 2010 to protect Transgender, Non-binary & Intersex people
Launch a review into updating the Equality Act 2010 to explicitly improve protections for transgender children and to include intersex and non-binary adults and children.
We believe the law should reflect current medical understanding, lived experience and international human rights standards.
We are concerned that presently people’s rights are being pushed back, due to what we feel is a lack of clarity by the Equality and Human Rights Commission and Parliament in the protection of the LGBTQIA+ population.
We feel our government has a duty to keep The Equality Act 2010 up to date.
There were 262,0000 trans people and around 30,000 non-binary people identified in the UK Census 2021. It is also reported that there are around 358,105 people with intersex variations in the UK.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
