Make Petrol and Diesel Tax Free (The Human Rights Act 1998)
Stop taxing petroleum and diesel under ‘The Human Rights Act 1998’
Freedom of movement is a fundamental human right and the petroleum and diesel combustion engine is what fuels our freedom and we shouldn’t be taxed over one of our basic human rights.
Within the UK, freedom of movement is a fundamental human right protected by the Human Rights Act 1998, rooted in Article 2 of Protocol 4 to the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR), allowing lawful residents to move and reside freely within the country, though subject to lawful limitations for public safety, health, or others' rights, like detention under mental health laws or in criminal justice, which must be lawful, legitimate, and proportionate.
