Make Inclusive Playgrounds Mandatory in All New and Upgraded Parks
No child should be left out of play because of disabilities. We want the UK Government to make sure it is mandatory for all new and upgraded parks to have inclusive playgrounds and be accessible to every child.
As a mother to a disabled child, I have had to campaign and fundraise relentlessly to have a wheelchair accessible round-a-bout installed in our local park. No parent should have to campaign just so their child can play. Even with the Equality Act councils are obliged to ensure that disabled people have access to public amenities however, this is not the case with parks. We believe disabled people are being left behind. Accessibility should be the norm not a second thought. We need change now.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
