Require all ATMs to be fitted with an emergency alert button

Petition Details

I would like the government to mandate the inclusion of a safety feature at ATMs in order to alert authorities that someone is at risk of being robbed. This could be done by either pressing 999 on the pad of the ATM or having a 999 button.

Additional Information

We believe this would help to make people feel more safe when they are withdrawing cash at ATMs. Many people often feel scared to withdraw large amounts of money from an ATM as they are afraid of being robbed for their money. I believe that by adding this feature it would help to protect those who are threatened and it would reduce the amount of ATM robberies.
