Petition Action

Introduce a statutory duty to acknowledge and support menstrual health.

Petition Details

We call on the UK Government to introduce new legislation placing a statutory duty on schools, colleges, training providers and employers to recognise, accommodate and support menstrual health and period-related impacts for girls and women, from adolescence through adulthood.

Additional Information

This duty should apply universally, without requiring proof of severity, medical diagnosis or disclosure. Menstrual health affects girls and women from early education through working life. Symptoms vary month to month and are a normal biological reality, yet many face stigma, penalties or lack of support in schools and workplaces. A statutory duty would promote equality, dignity, educational attainment and long-term participation without medicalising a natural process.
