Public inquiry: NHS care standards for the elderly, disabled & chronically ill
Commission an independent public inquiry into NHS care standards for elderly, disabled, and chronically ill patients, including access to treatment, safeguarding, discharge practices, clinical decision-making, and whether financial pressures are compromising patient safety and dignity.
There is widespread public concern about delays in treatment, premature discharge, inadequate safeguarding, and failures in clinical decision-making affecting vulnerable patients. Many families report avoidable harm and poor outcomes. An independent inquiry is needed to establish the facts, restore public confidence, and ensure patient welfare is never compromised by cost pressures.
