Clear up the excessive litter at the side of Britain's motorways and laybys
Establish a taskforce with national highways and local councils to immediately begin to address the excessive litter plaguing Britain's roads and laybys. Also consider installing ANPR cameras on motorway slip roads and in laybys to catch and fine roadside litter louts and deter further littering.
The sides of motorways and major A roads in Britain are in a disgusting state. Miles of discarded cans, bottles, coffee cups and plastic bags cover the sides of the roads and whilst some ignorant individuals continue to throw rubbish out of their vehicles, the council and national highways continue to make no effort to clear it up, so it keeps accumulating. This affects wildlife who choke and get caught in the waste, and makes our roads look untidy and more comparable to a third world country.
