Petition Action

Make it mandatory for all UK job adverts to include a salary range

Petition Details

We call on the UK Government to introduce legislation requiring all job advertisements to include a clear and realistic salary range.

This would apply to all employers and recruitment agencies advertising roles in the UK, across both public and private sectors.

Additional Information

Jobseekers regularly spend hours applying for roles, preparing for interviews, and completing assessments — only to discover late in the process that the salary is far below expectations.

This wastes time for Candidates , Employers, Recruiters & Hiring managers Requiring salary upfront would reduce mismatched applications and improve hiring efficiency across the economy.
A functioning labour market depends on clear price signals. In most markets, prices are visible wages should be no different.
