Petition Action

Prioritise AI safety in response to the clear catastrophic and existential risks

Petition Details

To pressure AI development companies to prioritise safety over money making and price they are doing this before we allow more AI models to be used in the UK

Additional Information

Because lots of leading AI developers have left the leading AI development companies due to their ethics and lack of regulations to keep it safe. There is clearly a race between countries to be the leaders in AI development and bypassing human safety over financial gain, it’s evident that the potential harm to human life is high, either through super intelligence or malicious intent of other humans… including risk of extinction. This should be as important as regulating nuclear weapons.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
