Petition Action

Fund history teachers free/discounted entry to historical sites

Petition Details

We call on the Government to fund a national scheme offering history teachers free or discounted access to museums, heritage sites and exhibitions through the implementation of a history teacher ID card.

Additional Information

We believe that these are essential professional resources, not leisure activities, and would boost teaching quality, student outcomes, teacher morale, recruitment and retention at low cost. In our view, there is a lack of free professional development opportunities for History teachers, and with challenging school budgets, this could help young people get the History education they deserve and support teachers to fulfil their potential and continued passion for the subject.
