Give us our vote in May 2026
Canceling local elections in May would be a direct attack on democracy. Elections are how ordinary people hold power to account. Without them, there is no real consent from the public, only decisions imposed from above That is not a democracy.
The government should protect democracy by keeping the May local elections in place and ensuring they go ahead as scheduled. Elections are not optional and should never be delayed for convenience or political advantage. The right to vote is a core democratic principle and must be treated as such
