Protect Kurds in Rojava (North & East Syria) and prevent further atrocities
We urge the UK Government to protect Kurds and civilians in Rojava (NE Syria) by condemning attacks, backing UN monitoring/investigations, imposing targeted sanctions on perpetrators, boosting humanitarian aid, and working with allies to ensure stability and civilian protection.
Kurdish forces and communities in Rojava (North & East Syria) were key allies of the UK and partners in defeating ISIS. Many Kurdish civilians now fear renewed violence, displacement and persecution amid instability and conflict involving the new Syrian authorities and other actors. The UK should not stay silent. We urge the Government to defend human rights, support stability, prevent ISIS returning, and act through diplomacy, coordination and lawful sanctions.
