Advocate for Kurdish civilians and women’s rights in Syria
The Government should use diplomatic & legal channels to protect Kurdish civilian rights in northeast Syria, ensure aid access, defend women's rights in peace talks, oppose forced displacement, gender-based violence & support independent monitoring of ceasefire arrangements and human rights abuses.
Although a ceasefire was announced in January, Kurdish civilians in northeast Syria continue to face insecurity and displacement, with humanitarian reporting showing urgent needs for food, shelter and medical care. Women and girls are especially vulnerable to violence, exploitation and exclusion when conflict disrupts legal protections and essential services. In our view, the UK has obligations under international humanitarian law and the Women, Peace and Security agenda to protect civilians and women in conflict.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
