Introduce mandatory paid menstrual leave of up to two days per month
We call on the UK Government to introduce legislation for employees whose menstrual symptoms significantly affect their ability to work, with protections against discrimination to support health, dignity, and workplace equality.
This policy would align the UK with international best practice and support employees’ long-term participation in the workforce. We believe menstrual leave should be treated as a legitimate workplace health accommodation, similar to other temporary health-related leave, and should not disadvantage employees in hiring, promotion, or performance assessment.
