Schools should prepare students for the real world
Year 7+ students must be taught business, finance, and entrepreneurship alongside life skills like tax navigation and household management. This curriculum should progress from basics to adult economic readiness, ensuring UK students can navigate the workplace and real world confidently.
Parliament must mandate this curriculum to end the "postcode lottery" of financial literacy. Relying on parents or luck leaves thousands vulnerable to debt and unemployment. By formalising business, accounting, and tax education, the Government ensures social mobility and national economic resilience. We cannot expect a 21st-century economy to thrive if the next generation enters adulthood without the basic tools to manage a payslip, start a business, or navigate a professional workplace.
