Fund a trial for children and young people denied NHS access to medical cannabis
We call on the Government to support children and young people on private prescriptions for drug-resistant epilepsy, still unable to access medical cannabis on the NHS, despite it being legally available in the UK since 2018, by establishing a funded observational trial.
Hannah Deacon’s campaign was critical to legalising medical cannabis in 2018. But children and young people with drug-resistant epilepsy are still denied NHS access. Forced to pay privately, families fundraise whilst caring for their sick children. Sophisticated trials are planned but take years and are unsuitable for those already on medication. We urge the Government to fund a simple Observational Trial for this cohort.
