Democracy delayed us democracy denied: Reinstate UKYP elections.
I would like the Government to:
. Immediately confirm funding and renewal of the UK youth Parliament contract.
. Lift the pause on national UKYP election processes
. Provide a clear and transparent timeline for next steps
. Guarantee youth democratic engagement across all local areas
Pausing UK Youth Parliament elections is a direct failure of democracy. Young people are ready to vote, but the Government’s inaction has cancelled elections and shut us out. This proves that young voices are only valued when they are convenient. Democracy does not pause. Silencing young people is unacceptable. Fund UKYP and let elections happen.
