Petition Action

Introduce statutory regulation and enforcement for managing agents & freeholders

Petition Details

Introduce mandatory statutory regulation of managing agents and freeholders, including licensing, enforceable professional standards, financial penalties for breaches, powers to suspend or ban repeat offenders, and automatic cost sanctions where leaseholders are forced into tribunal action.

Additional Information

We believe voluntary codes and redress schemes have failed leaseholders and that complaints are upheld with little or no consequence, while managing agents and freeholders continue harmful practices unchecked. Some leaseholders face inflated service charges, unsafe buildings, withheld information, and long tribunal delays at their own cost. In our view regulation without enforcement is not reform, and protection must prevent harm, not arrive years later.
