Ask the Government to review student loan interest and reform or remove it so repayments reduce balances. Consider zero or capped interest, income-linked limits, or interest forgiveness after sustained repayment, ensuring student loans are fair and repayable, not lifelong debt.
Student loan interest often prevents borrowers from reducing their debt, even after years of regular repayments. This creates long-term financial pressure, worsens the cost of living, and leaves millions spending large sums on interest rather than clearing what they owe. Reducing or removing interest would ease this burden, ensure repayments write off debt, and may encourage more people into higher education by removing the fear of lifelong indebtedness.
